BUFFALO, N.Y. — A California man was arrested Sunday after U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers discovered 78 pounds of marijuana in a rental truck at the Peace Bridge, according to CBP.

Officials say 43-year-old Ronald Nunn was following GPS directions that mistakenly led him toward Canada when he was stopped by officers at the border. Nunn allegedly told CBP that the truck he was driving was empty. However, a subsequent inspection revealed three cardboard boxes containing 60 vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana.

“Our dedicated CBP officers continue to perform their jobs at the highest levels,” said Area Port Director Gaetano Cordone. “Their training and experience help to keep our communities safe from these illegal narcotics.”

After being processed by CBP, Nunn was turned over to Buffalo police. He is expected to face felony charges for criminal possession of cannabis.
